Learn the art of traditional papermaking—filtering paper fibers, molding your sheet, and pressing it into shape. After that, step inside our historic Print Shop for a guided tour, hear fascinating stories about the evolution of printing from a PhD historian, and print your own postcard on one of our antique printing presses.
Designed for homeschool students ages 10-14!
Come dive into the past with our brand‑new immersive workshop, created especially for older students eager to roll up their sleeves and get hands-on with history.
In the first hour, you’ll learn the art of traditional papermaking—filtering paper fibers, molding your sheet, and pressing it into shape. After that, step inside our historic Print Shop for a guided tour, hear fascinating stories about the evolution of printing from a PhD historian, and print your own postcard on one of our antique printing presses.
What you’ll make:
- Two sheets of handmade paper to take home—one embedded with flower seeds to plant later if you choose
- A hand‑printed postcard created on our authentic antique presses
